Lets start with skin care products.  Products have several variants of functions in dealing with the signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines, and saggy skin. You will notice that plenty of products on the market have nutrients in them. One of these functions of nutrients is in revitalizing the skin. The skin needs vitamins and minerals as well as antioxidants to maintain healthy cells in the body. Healthy cells mean healthy skin. Here are some of the vitamins that can revitalize the skin:

• Vitamin A
Vitamin A is sometimes called beta-carotene. It is essential in maintaining a fair skin. Lack of Vitamin A may case dry and rough skin. Synthetic compounds like retinoids act like the vitamin in preventing skin cancer and treating skin acne. Think of orange red and yellow fruit and vegetables for carotinoids

• Vitamin C
Vitamin C or ascorbic acid helps the immune system in healing wounds and especially preventing scurvy. For these, look for fresh fruits like strawberries apples, oranges, and fresh leafy greens. Surprisingly potatoes are a great source of vitamin C, however they might produce a surge in blood sugar and that’s not good for the skin at all.

• Vitamin D
Unlike the other vitamins that can be taken from food, vitamin D is formed in the body by the activation of the sunlight. You need it to keep yourself strong – especially your bones. Nothing like osteoporosis to speed up the aging process

• Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a popular antioxidant used in many skin care creams. It can help prevent damage from free radicals, from the sun and from other environmental agents. It is also considered to be an effective vitamin for preserving healthy cells.

Getting rid of fine lines and wrinkles can goes a long way to making you look younger.
Most newly emerged over-the-counter wrinkle creams claim to reduce wrinkles and fine lines – as good as the more expensive medical face lift. Research shows that some of those products indeed show significant improvement; however, the effectiveness may depend on the period of time the product is used. It may also depend largely on the product’s active ingredient. Here are some of the most effective active ingredients used to get rid of wrinkles:

• Retinol
Retinol is a synthetic vitamin A compound. It is known to be the first antioxidant used in nonprescription wrinkle creams. It is less potent than another vitamin A compound retinoin which only available if prescribed. Only a topical amount of retinol is approved by the Food and Drugs Administration.

• Hydroxy acids
Hydroxy acids are derivatives from sugar-containing fruits. These acids act as exfoliants which remove the top layer of old and dead skin and stimulate the growth of new and younger skin. As with retinols When applying hydroxyl acids, be careful .You need to make sure you wear a good sunblock or you will find yourself burnt in a heartbeat. And, we all know that’s not good for the skin for sure.

• Coenzyme Q10
It is commonly called as Co-Q10. It works in the cell’s mitochondria to help regulate energy production in the cells. Studies show that it can reduce fine wrinkles around the eyes and can even protect against sun damage.

• Copper peptides
It enhances wound healing, stimulates production of collagen, and enhances the action of antioxidants.

Bright eyes make a youthful smile shine. Gloomy dark eye circles make you look old and stressful. Though dark eye circles can be remedied by natural means, creams to get rid of dark circles are definitely out there in the market place. Purity, is one such example of that cream uses a pure aloe, Haloxyl ™, skin thickening peptides and omega 3 to lower the darkening of the lower part of the eye.

As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and facial muscles are no longer capable of holding the facial skin in place. In the past, only expensive cosmetic surgeries, painful toxic injections and harsh chemical would reverse saggy skin. Nowadays there are improvements in topical treatments to deal with this problem. Stem cell creams are expensive but oh so excellent at repairing damaged DNA and other anti-saggy skin products like Purify use Hyaluronic acid, peptides to increase collagen and include elastin, omega 3 and vitamin C.

Properly moisturized skin helps you stay younger looking.

While skin cleansing products remove dead skin cells along with dirt and grime, it can leave the skin dry. That is why most of those products have added moisturizers in their ingredients to help maintain healthy and youthful skin. A moisturized skin encourages the removal of dead skin scalls aka desquamation, a process that makes the skin appear smoother.

It is also important to know the key ingredients of skin moisturizers and their functions. Here are some of them:

Humectants
Their primary function is to attract water from the dermis into the epidermis to increase the water content of the epidermis. When humidity is high, humectants attract water from the atmosphere into the epidermis. The most commonly used humectants are ammonium lactate, glycerin, sodium PCA, Urea, sorbitol, hylauronic acid, and propylene glycerol and butylene glycol. The first 3 are the most effective.

Occlusives
This group of moisturizers increases the water content of the skin by slowing the evaporation of water from the surface of the skin. Most of these ingredients are greasy and are therefore most effective when applied to damp skin. Examples of occlusives are beeswax, mineral oil, paraffin, caprylic/capric triglycerides, propylene glycol dioleate, cyclomethicone and dimethicone. Its not unusual to see these ingredients in skin care products.

Emollients
Emollients mainly lubricate the skin, helping it to stay soft, smooth and pliable. The common emollients are isopropyl palmitate, cyclomethicone, lanolin, dimethicone copolyol, and propylene glycol linoleate and glyceryl stearates.

Younger looking skin can never be more complete without even skin tones. Exfoliants are the best products that can deal with uneven skin tone since they get rid of the older layer of the skin to match the color of the younger layer.

There’s not a person in the world who can stop the aging process, but that doesn’t mean we need to look older than we need to. The best ways to reverse aging and staying looking young is still to have a healthy lifestyle – avoiding stress, not smoking, regular exercise, and a balanced healthy diet with enough sleep and exercise.
